A personal philosophy on the inclusion of a child with Down Syndrome in the community

This is an interesting story about a family’s decision to adopt a newly born baby who has Down Syndrome. The mother describes her and her family’s dreams for her son, as well as his own dreams. Although the young boy is included in many activities and groups in his community, he only attends his local school for one hour a week. While this is quite minimal integration, it can also be an important step towards full inclusion in the local school. Keyword: Integration
