Faith and determination: Inclusive education benefits everyone

Another great story by the mother of a young girl who began attending her local school after 2 years at a special school. This is a story about the inclusion of someone who has very high support needs (Myth: inclusive education only works for children with so called ‘mild’ disabilities), and it is interesting what the mother writes about the other children in her daughter’s class; “The children’s ingenuity, commitment and imagination is very precious…..Their response..reaffirms my belief that everyone benefits from an inclusive society” (Myth: Student’s academic achievements will be negatively affected by the presence of students with disabilities and that students with disabilities will always be ostracised).
