Karen Tipett
Advocacy and Inclusion, Senior Manager
Karen joined Family Advocacy in 2008. She manages multiple teams within Family Advocacy and Resourcing Inclusive Communities, enhancing families’ knowledge and skills to enable them to effectively advocate for a life of meaningful community inclusion for their family member with a disability.
Karen has come from a corporate business background and moved into the not-for-profit sector on her family’s return from overseas where she focused on raising her three daughters. An inherent desire for equity and fairness is a key motivator for Karen both personally and professionally.

Family Advocacy supports and encourages families and allies of people with disability to become members of our organisation. Membership enables you to connect with like-minded people around NSW who aim to achieve positive change for people with disability. Members can also have pivotal roles in both our systemic advocacy work, workshop development, and presentations.
