The Disability Royal Commission hears lots about what doesn’t work, now they are asking for what does. In our next webinar we will be discussing the “Promoting Inclusion” issues paper through a solutions-focused lens.
Positive stories of inclusion will enable the commission to recommend changes to systems to ensure that the inclusive attitudes and practices that have made a positive impact in people’s life are replicated in other settings, and also to recommend practical systemic changes promoting a society that supports inclusion, safeguards and freely given relationships.
Focusing on these positive reflections does not seek, in any way to deny or avoid the complexity and the compound nature of the experience of people with disability and their families. Yet, these rays of light can highlight the difference inclusion brings.
