This two hour information session explores the lifelong benefits of inclusive education for children with disability and the communication and advocacy skills and strategies helpful in achieving it for our own family members.
This information session will provide families of children with disability an overview of inclusive education in NSW, with a focus on equipping families starting school or in the early years of education with information, advice and strategies to navigate the education system. We will cover:
- choosing a school
- school transition
- possible supports at school (emphasis on public system)
- communication skills and strategies for building positive relationships
- research about the benefits of mainstream education.
