The articles in this paper are based on the argument that families whose children have severe disabilities should be supported in as many ways as they need, and that children who cannot stay with their birth families deserve to live with other families. Different forms of family support are discussed, taking a parent's perspective and a broad look at family support nationally (USA). Children's needs for a nurturing home and consistent relationships with adults should be considered as rights. Keywords: Families, Accommodation
