Robert Perske is an ally of people with disabilities in the U.S.A. A selection of his writings were used for a series of public meetings held by the Australian Association for the Mentally Retarded in 1983. They cover issues such as the need people with disabilities have for risk taking, the importance of families to act on their visions and dreams, the concept of normalisation and how to speak effectively for one's child.
