Parental perceptions of physicians' communication in the informing process

Written Material
Download

This study examines how parents felt about the way in which physicians informed them of their child's disability. The results are generally positive but this may be due to the passage of time and/or other factors. However, the study is valuable in showing that isolated and rural areas require more support and follow-up, and there needs to be more accurate and supportive communication between families and health care professionals.
