This paper by Wolf Wolfensberger - is the Director of the Training Institute for Human Service Planning, Leadership and Change Agentry at Syracuse University and the founder of citizen advocacy - proposes the term "social role valorisation" as a replacement for the principle of "normalisation". It is a paper which provides clear explanations of the term "Normalisation", why it requires changing and the term "social role valorisation" (SRV). Wolfensberger argues that social devaluation and division is so thoroughly laid into the human mentality that obviously people need all the help they can get to overcome basic inclination - SRV strategies can powerfully promote positive attitude change by people towards devalued human beings.
