Supported Employment, A Focus on Job Coaching: The Untapped Potential

Book

This USA publication is intended for those wishing to learn more about supported employment and job coaching, particularly people with disability and their families. Job coaching involves the provision of individualised assistance to people at the employment site in order to help them obtain, learn and maintain a job. The booklet explains that because a person obtains employment with support, it does not necessarily mean that the goals of inclusion, productivity and choice have been achieved. A job coach, therefore, is usually a trainer, a manager, a trust builder and a problem solver. Information provided in this booklet should also prove useful to employers, agencies and advocates.
