In "The Chalk Rainbow," we meet Zane, a child who marches to the beat of his own drum. With a language of his own, a desire to place everything in a row, and a fear of the colour black, Zane stands out from his peers. His father struggles with frustration and anger, his mother tirelessly attempts to bridge the gap, however, a glimmer of hope emerges when Zane's compassionate big sister has a breakthrough. Through the simple act of drawing a chalk rainbow, she begins to unravel the mysteries of Zane's world. A poignant reminder that every child deserves to be understood and embraced.
